Phutaniganjer Mahesh

Arunava Bagchi, a young government officer and passionate theatre actor from Balurghat, joins hands with veteran director Chandramadhab Shil to revive the town's once-renowned theatre group by adapting Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's Mahesh. When the production evolves into Phutaniganj's first-ever feature film, Chandramadhab's insistence on casting a real bull in the titular role leads him on an extraordinary journey that blurs the lines between art, obsession, and sacrifice. As an unlikely bond forms between the filmmaker and the animal, the ambitious project soon becomes embroiled in controversy, placing Chandramadhab's lifelong dream under intense public and legal scrutiny.
