Lakes Region, southeastern Brazil. João has been unemployed since the restaurant where he worked closed its doors. Living with his father, he tries to devote himself to his duties as a young pastor in the local evangelical community. Idle and unable to help those around him, let alone himself, he feels abandoned by God.
