After her return from abroad, sister Dongming plans a grand Western-style wedding for her younger brother Ajie. Yet their family brings home a rooster to ward off ill fortune for him, ruining all her arrangements. Their father's sole concern is the rooster, while their mother quietly settles an old score with Dongming over her past as a daughter. No one pays any heed to Ajie himself. On the wedding day, Ajie goes missing. Dongming then sets out to expose the absurdity of this family in her own way.
